The difference between SVC regulator and SBW regulator

Voltage regulators and carbon brush voltage regulators both belong to mechanical voltage regulators, which are a type of voltage regulator classification. They both change the output voltage by driving the carbon brush head to adjust the position of the transformer through a servo motor.

1.What is SVC voltage regulator:

SVC is a fully automatic AC stabilized power supply composed of an autotransformer, a sampling control board, and an actuator. It has the characteristics of small size, light weight, low output waveform distortion, and fast response speed, and can extend its service life. It is the most ideal AC stabilized power supply. This instrument has low electrode consumption and can be used continuously for a long time.

Characteristics of SVC voltage regulator:The SVC series high-precision fully automatic AC voltage regulator has the characteristics of waveform distortion free, small size, light weight, high efficiency, convenient use, reliability, and long-term operation. It can be widely used in any electric field and is an ideal voltage regulator.

2. What is SBW voltage regulator:

SBW The abbreviation for three-phase compensating power stabilizer. The meaning of each letter is S (three-phase), B (compensating type), W (power stabilizer)

Composition of SBW voltage regulator:The SBW series compensating AC voltage regulator consists of a compensating transformer, a contact voltage regulating servo drive mechanism with sliding contacts, a control system, a sampling and detection system, and a protection system.

3.The difference between SVC regulator and SBW regulator:

SVC regulators are limited in their voltage regulation function as they belong to ring transformers. Therefore, SVC regulators are restricted in terms of product power and voltage regulation range. Therefore, SVC regulators generally do not exceed 100KVA in product power, and their voltage regulation range does not exceed ± 20%,

SBW voltage regulators use column regulators, which have unlimited product space and power. However, if the product power is too small, it will cause space waste. Therefore, the power of SBW voltage regulators is generally above 100KVA.

4.Which is better, SBW or SVC voltage regulator:

The voltage regulation methods of SBW and SVC regulators are the same, both of which are mechanical voltage regulation methods. When the external network voltage changes, the sampling circuit detects that the external network voltage change value exceeds the voltage regulation accuracy of the regulator. At this time, the circuit drives the transistor to conduct, allowing the motor to work to adjust the position of the carbon brush, change the number of turns of the transformer primary coil, and thus change the output voltage of the regulator.

Both SBW and SVC voltage regulators use carbon brush head voltage regulation, with the only difference being the internal voltage regulation package method. There is no substantial difference, and the only difference in selection is the power. SVC voltage regulators are suitable for lower power load environments, while SBW voltage regulators are suitable for devices with higher power. So there is a difference in power usage between the two on the load.
